Bonnie Smallwood is a Partner at Tone Capital and serves as an adviser and investment strategist. She brings more than 38 years of experience in fixed income, short-term funding, and money-market trading.
Before joining Tone Capital, Bonnie spent 19 years as a Senior Vice President and Money Market Trader at BB&T Capital Markets in Richmond. She led the firm’s repurchase-agreement trading and traded a range of short-term securities and funding instruments.
Bonnie began her career at Bank of Virginia, later Signet Bank, where her responsibilities included federal-funds trading, commercial-paper and master-note programs, and Eurodollar time deposits. She also served on Capital One’s transition team, providing interim management of its federal-funds desk and short-term funding operations.
Bonnie studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and holds the Wealth Management Certified Professional® designation.
